Learning Hebrew

Learning to read, write and speak Hebrew has been one of the most challenging things we’ve had to do since arriving in Israel. While it is true that many people speak English, French, Spanish, Russian as well as many other languages, and that if you settle into the right neighborhood, you can find many people who speak the same language that you do, you will soon find that a working knowledge of Hebrew is needed if you expect to be able to read your bills, bank statements and other official correspondences, as well as to be able to talk to the bus driver, the doctor or the folks at the Post Office, phone company, electric company and so on. Even being able to read labels on food packages at the supermarket can sometimes be impossible if you can’t read Hebrew. With that in mind, I have compiled some of the tools I have developed to help me learn Hebrew, which I am happy to share with you.
